Window manufacturers and installers from Everglade have given their professional skills an edge through achieving NVQ qualifications.
A total of 27 members of staff were awarded certificates in Fenestration Installation and Production of Glass Supporting Fabrication.
The craftsmen, based at Everglade’s headquarters in Perivale, North West London trained on the job and through Uxbridge College and Total Support.
Yogesh Gopal, Trade Manager at Everglade, said: “Having qualified staff creates so many advantages both for our business as a whole and our people as individuals...Our customers, manufacturers and installers can all feel confident about the work we do because it is assessed by national standards. Training to NVQ level gives us an advantage when we want to tender for commercial jobs because it shows we have the
best skills...Providing a formal training programme for our staff shows we are taking our corporate responsibilities seriously - and our staff value the fact we look after them. It also gives us the edge when we’re competing to recruit and retain good people...Some of the guys at Everglade who achieved their NVQs recently never got any
qualifications at school and never expected to – but they’re thrilled to have the recognition for the skills they have."
