Preparing for Employment Project
EDI Level 1 Certificate in Preparing for Employment
The aim of this qualification is to develop the learner’s skills
and confidence to assist them to prepare for various Construction work
placements, leading to employment outcomes. Learners will benefit from training
on CV preparation, interview techniques, preparing for an interview in
preparation for work whilst at the same time achieving a nationally recognised
qualification.
Who Should Attend/Entry Requirements
The EDI Level 1 Certificate in Preparing for Employment is
designed to assist and motivate learner who have been unemployed for some time
and are seeking to return to work.
In order to be eligible, you will need to meet the following criteria:
18-24 year olds - must be unemployed for less than 9 months.
25+ year olds - must be unemployed for less than 1 year.
Course Structure
To achieve a full Level 1 Certificate in Preparing for Employment, learners must obtain a minimum of 13 credits. The aim of this course is to provide the learner with the basic knowledge and understanding to ensure the ability of:
• Writing a CV
• Completing a Job Application
• Dealing with Problems in daily life
• Preparing for an Interview
• Effective communication for the workplace
• Personal Presentation
• Preparation for work
• Working as part of a group
Assessment/Certification
Internally set and assessed tasks that meet the assessment criteria, which includes oral questions, observation of practical activities and the compiling of a portfolio. The EDI Level 1 Certificate in Preparing for Employment is awarded to learners who achieve the minimum of 14 credits.

Start Date: 6th February, with courses starting in March, April, May, also
Days: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays
Duration: 4 weeks (12 days in total)
Times: 9:30am – 3:00pm
