CIEH level 2 Award in Manual Handling

Aim of the workshop
This qualification is aimed at those who carry out manual handling at work and provides essential information about manual handling hazards and how they are controlled. Under the Manual Handling Operation Regulations 1992 employers are required to take appropriate steps to reduce the risk of injury to employees – this includes suitable training. The CIEH Level 2 Award in Manual Handling covers the theoretical elements of the subject and teaches learners techniques to lift, carry, push and pull objects safely

Workshop objectives
By the end of this workshop those attending will have an understanding of:
  • How to identify the hazards of manual handling
  • Identify the risks involved in manual handling
  • Identify what is expected in a manual handling assessment

Workshop contents
  • Overview of The Manual Handling Operation Regulations 1992
  • Responsibilities of employers and employees under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations
  • The process of manual handling in the workplace
  • Manual handling injuries and the activities that cause them
  • Manual handling assessments and the control options 

Workshop attendees
This workshop is suitable for all employees who lift, carry, push or pull material, boxes, equipment etc to attend.

Assessment for certification
The assessment for this qualification is a multiple choice test paper

Workshop duration and cost
This workshop is of ½ -days duration, the cost of this workshop is £45.00 per person plus VAT this includes, workbook, certification with CIEH, and refreshments.
